Junior Golf Program

Kennett Square Golf and Country Club offers a broad program of golf activities, instruction, and supervised course play for juniors from age 4 to 18. The program is recognized by golf professionals as one of the best in the Philadelphia area. The overall program consists of three parts, each differing in intensity, duration, and age focus.

Back to Golf

Kennett Square Golf and Country Club is the proud home of the Unionville-Chadds Ford High School Golf Team, the team that on October 25, 2017, won the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Golf Championship by beating Central York High School 292 to 296. Congratulations, boys!

Junior Golf instructional and Play Series

Our objective for this year’s program is to help our participants not only to play golf but also to appreciate the rules and etiquette of golf.

We will develop the social skills necessary for the game while ensuring that the participants experience success, build self-esteem, and have fun.

This program is conducted on Tuesday mornings from 7:30 to 10:30 for the younger age groups. After group instruction, all participants are allowed to play either one, four, five, nine, or 18 holes, depending on the skill level they have achieved. The younger and less advanced players will be accompanied by parent volunteers and will complete their play at approximately 10:30, while the more advanced/older players will finish closer to noon, and the 18-holers will come off the course at the end of their round.

Staff and Volunteers

The professional golf staff will be in charge of and oversee the weekly activities including tournaments, clinics, etc.

The professional staff consists of:

  • Ryan Nuechterlein, Head Golf Professional
  • Jesse Hackett, Assistant Golf Professional
  • Mike Reichwein, Assistant Golf Professional
  • Robbie Tyler, Assistant Golf Professional

Club member Rich Kline chairs the Club’s Junior Golf Committee. Mr. Kline will need over 100 volunteers, mostly parents, to run the program effectively.

Volunteer duties consist of walking with juniors as they play, monitoring activities for etiquette and safety, providing transportation for inter-club matches, and other duties as assigned by the Junior Golf Committee.

The Junior Golf Association is open to Club members’ children ages 7 to 18. A child must be 7 years old by the beginning of the program, which is June 21, 2016. Exceptions will not be made.
